Plumbing Cost Breakdown

At Dr. Plumber II, we want our current and future customers to understand the context of plumbing charges, and what that entails – essentially, we’d like to help you understand your invoice.

When the plumber is at your business or residence, addressing the plumbing complaint, you might think that you will be charged only for the work he does on site. In reality, however, your invoice will typically have additional charges woven into it. Let’s break that down.

Trip-Charge

Something that all plumbing companies invoice for, the trip charge includes the cost of the plumber driving to your location.

  • Gas
  • Wear and tear on the vehicle
  • Typically this includes the diagnostic charge as well

Pre-Charge

The pre-charge covers ordering and reordering the supplies and parts we must have on hand to address your immediate plumbing needs.

  • Charges to stock supplies and parts in the warehouse.
  • Charges to load the plumbing trucks so our team always has the parts necessary to complete the plumbing job at your location. Having to make a trip to the supply store during service would delay the resolution & require more time from our customers. We respect your time and aim to expedite services so you can get back to your life.
  • Charges to prep parts for specific jobs may be completed prior to arriving at your location. Not all jobs require this, but it saves time and resources. Again, we respect our customers and don’t want to spend any more time on the job than necessary.

Post-Charge

Plumbing work is rarely a clean job, but our team cleans up the work space to ensure there is no mess left behind.

  • There might be debris left over after a job, including dysfunctional appliances such as dishwashers or water heaters. We remove these from the home and dispose of them per state law – taking them to the dump sites, scrap yards, etc.
  • To save you money, our team would be happy to leave the mess and broken items on the job site for you to dispose of. If you would prefer this option, simply let your plumber know and he will deduct the clean up & disposal cost off your invoice.

We hope this helps you understand the breakdown of your invoice. If you have any questions or concerns, please let your plumber know, or reach us by calling 414-554-9198.

Thank you for your consideration, your time, and your business!
